Alleged Assault on Police at Royal Crest

The following information was supplied by the North Andover Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A man was charged with assaulting police after a strange 911 call and a police visit to Royal Crest.

At just before 10 p.m. Sunday, North Andover Police received a s911 call in which the caller was silent and hung up. Police called the home, and a man reportedly said "This is bad and I didn't do anything," according to police reports.

Police said it's an ongoing issue and the woman living at that particular Royal Crest address calls 911 when the man would become intoxicated. When they arrived, police were going to take the man into protective custody, but he reportedly became violent and, in a struggle, assaulted the officers.

Casey Paxton, 36, of 14 Royal Crest Drive Apt. 9, was charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and two counts of assault on a police officer.
