Summer Art Workshops for Kids
Julie's School of Art Specializes in Visual Art Lessons for Children in grades 1-8!
This Summer we are offering six different workshops each with a specific medium and theme!
Each workshop runs for one hour per day for three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Class Times:
Children in grades 1-4, 9:30am – 10:30am
Children in Grades 5-7, 11am-12noon
Workshop #1 – Clay Sculpture
July 9, 10, 11
Students will create and paint small clay sculptures.

Workshop #2 – Mixed Media 3D Collage
July 16, 17, 18
Each Student will create a collage use a variety of media, including 3D media, such as yarn, buttons, found obejcts along with more traditional media - Paint, markers, glue, and magazine clippings.

Workshop #3 – Color and Emotion
(Using color and line to create emotion in painting and drawing.)
July 30, 31 and August 1
Students will learn about how artists use color and line to create emotion in a work of art. They will look at children's picture books, work by Van Gogh and Picaso and discuss what different colors mean to them. Each Student will then create a painting that portrays an emotion or emotions.

Workshop # 4 – Plaster sculpture
August 6, 7, 8
Students will design a mold and create a poured plaster sculture.

Workshop # 5 - Mosaics
August 13, 14, 15
In this workshop students will create a small mosacic using tile pieces and grout on a board.

Workshop #6 – Painting Animals in Acrylics
August 27, 28, 29 In this workshop students will complete an acrylic on canvas of any animal of thier choosing. Students can bring in a photo of their own pet to draw and paint or choose from photos at the studio. __
