The Champion Factory Closes, Will Now Be Legends

One local North Andover children's gym is under new ownership, renovation.

One of North Andover's most popular spots for kids has closed its doors.

"We have been serving children for 13 years, most of the kids in the town have at least been to a birthday party there," owner Brian Veth said.

But if you and your kids had fun at The Champion Factory, one thing might cheer you up. Legends Gym just up the street from The Champion Factory, is taking over the gym and will keep it as a gym. This facility will be an expansion, and Legends is staying in businesses in their current Orchard Hill Road location.

"He [Veth] was looking to get out of the biz and he was looking to expand, so it worked out great," Legends owner Barbara Getchell said.

"We're hoping for September, we'll have to see how the renovation goes," Getchell said. "We're building a brand new lobby area, we upgraded all the equipment, we took down a wall and expanded it, we made lobby area really kid friendly.

In addition to birthday parties, preschool classes and grade school classes, Legends will expand their cheer and tumble program at the new location and include movie nights as well as a drop-off during Fridays when preschool is not in session.
