Horizons for Homeless Children is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to serving homeless children and their families.

Our volunteers, known as PALs (Playspace Activity Leaders), play and interact with children in one of 140 shelters across Massachusetts, including programs in the Lowell, Lawrence, and North Shore areas. PALs have a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young homeless children by providing them the opportunities for play that are critical for learning and growth.

PALs volunteer for two hours each week – same day, time, and shelter – for a minimum of six months. Most of our shifts in the Northeast are Monday – Thursday from 6-8 PM, though there are limited opportunities to volunteer in the morning and afternoon.
