ReplyI Congresses current approval rating is at 10%, why would people continue to keep putting the same old problem candidates into office? It proves that the politicians are correct.....voters are totally STUPID!!! Have the guts to remove the problems. These morons in office feel they have a lifetime position because the STUPID voters believe evey word the politician says.
Vote who you want. You vote the same one's in office, only blame yourselves. You have no right to complain when you don't like what they do. -

ReplyPlease people, stop argueing over this. As in all articles, the only response that is 100% on the money, correct, positively right and without a doubt non biased is from Gretchen Robinson. I have learned through her responses there is absolutely no need to listen to any other person's point of view. She is the one who is in the know. So, I'm asking Gretchen to write the 1st reply to every political column. There will be no need to respond since her opinion & knowledge is above everyone else's.

I have notified my land line, cell, internet and TV providers that as of 7/1 I am cancelling all services I receive. People lived for many eons w/o these, so, I'm going to try it. We'll see how long I can last. Being an "old fart" I may make it a while. I very rarely use either phone service, internet I use to tick off people, and TV...I've got so much on tape & disc I won't miss paying for crap I don't watch. To communicate w/others, I'll use snail mail.

ReplyThese 2 fine young individuals are examples of why we need state assistance. Both of them should be entitled to Free Meals, Free Housing, Luxury Items such as TV, Gym memberships, etc. The female should receive her benefits at the Women's Prison in Framingham, the male should receive his at Cedar Junction. Both for as long as possible.

Whether you agree or disagree with a person's point of view, respect them as you would want to be respected for your beliefs. Mr. Cellucci contracted a horrible illness and fought it courageously. May he now Rest In Peace. What lies beyond our time on earth is the "Great Mystery". None of us know what lies ahead, we either believe or we don't. If there is a place beyond earth, may Mr. Cellucci be in the better of what may be there.

Velvet: To quote you: "Ken B, a ''socialist'' wouldn't take a dime from Wall St". I happen to agree with you. The Socialist would go for all they could get. Why settle for only a dime when you could probably squeeze out closer to 50 cents on the dollar, if not more. Remember the Iron Lady (Margaret Thatcher) said "Socialism will work only as long as the people have the money to give". We're seeing it now in various European countries now. Can you say Greece for one? It's proven, once incentives to produce diminish, the culture does also. Gov't has got to step back, lessen regulations and let people be productive without intervention. Gov't only makes things worse. Hopefully, I'll be fertilizing the ground long before the vision you have for this country becomes a reality. Then, again, once I'm gone I'll be eligble for state assistance. Isn't this a great country, work hard...get nothing. Die...Gov't takes care of you. Then, I bet, I could vote 3 - 4 times also.

Reply1 fraudulent case is 1 too many. As hard working taxpayers we deserve public officials who are diligent in their duties. Problem is,,,unions protect them when they do not perform as they are supposed to. Try firing a public union employee. It's practically impossible and it can be expensive. Those officers, in public office who negociated contracts did a disservice to taxpayers. We'll keep paying and paying these employees and those who do not deserve the assistance they recieve. Again, we the taxpayer lose, while EVERYONE else wins. Remember, 1 fraudulent case is 1 too many. If you don't agree, you deserve what you get.

ReplyLets make teacher's and administrators salaries like those of Dr's who accept Medicare(caid) patients. Will teachers work for 43% of what they are supposed to earn?
If they did, maybe the budget would be far less.
Can you say $50 million or more in the next 5 - 10 years???? Will it ever stop??? -

ReplyUnder "Obamacare" Physicians who accept Medicare(caid) patients now receive 43% of what they are entitled to. This rate will be going down in the near future.
Question: "Will teachers be willing to work at the rate of pay that is being dictated by Gov't? For that matter, would any other field accept this slap in the face physicians will face? By the way, many physicians will be going to a membership based practice, in the not so distant future. Up to $2,000/yr per person, payable to the practice just to be able to see the Dr. This is already happening in various parts of the country. It will hit MA too.
