Thyme to Eat!

North Andover's newest Japanese restaurant offers Hibachi style cooking and a unique sushi bar.

Thyme Japanese Cuisine in North Andover has been open for only eight months, but it has quickly found a home as one of the town’s favorite places to eat sushi. “Sushi and the Hibachi food are the most popular,” said Irene Li of Thyme. The sushi bar has a few items that you may not find at all Japanese restaurants. First of all the Ee-Dako, baby octopus, makes a great appetizer at only five dollars. Tako Su is another popular octopus dish that is marinated in a flavorful vinegar sauce. That dish costs only six dollars. Thyme offers many typical sushi dishes such as tuna, salmon, and yellowtail, but its unique choices set it apart. What’s better than the sizzle of barbeque ribs on the grill? Summertime demands a special kind of dining and there is one local restaurant that has the seasonal eating experience perfected. Burtons Grill on 114 in North Andover is doing it right this summer with new barbeque special, exceptional seafood, and refreshing summer drinks. “We have native swordfish that’s caught right off the coast,” said Mike Tynan, a manger at Burtons. Jaime’s Restaurant on High Street in North Andover is a summer sanctuary that helps patrons feel like they’re on vacation when they’re right at home. Owner Jaime Faria noted one of this summer’s most popular dishes. “With the summertime here we do a lot of the Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos,” Faria said. Two soft tacos are filled with grilled mahi mahi, cilantro mayo, lettuce, sour cream and Monterey Jack cheddar on the side.
