Cyclist Medflighted after Crashing in Harold Parker

North Andover and Andover Fire helped remove an injured mountain biker from a remote location in Harold Parker Forest earlier Sunday morning.

Andover Fire received a call Sunday morning regarding a mountain biker that took hard spill on a steep trail in Harold Parker Forest. With the biker found to be in North Andover, both town's Fire staff worked to locate the injured man, who was more than a mile from the trail entrance on Middleton Road.  According to North Andover Fire Lt. Graham Rowe, emergency staff first got the call around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and Andover Police were first to arrive.  "He sustained a pretty good knock on the head," Rowe.  After North Andover Fire came shortly, staff from both had to prepare the victim to be treated by paramedics. North Andover Man Seriously Injured in One-Car Crash on Rt. 125

A 70-year-old North Andover man was flown to Boston for serious injuries sustained in a car accident on Route 125 in Andover Monday afternoon.

State Police are investigating the cause of a one-car accident at Route 125 and Route 28 that left an elderly man in serious condition Monday afternoon. According to State Trooper Kenneth Gaetz, police first reported the accident at 1:55 p.m on Monday. Gaetz said that North Andover resident James Sheridan was traveling in his 2011 Ford Taurus on Route 125 when he left the roadway, for unknown reasons, and directly hit the concrete bridge support for one of the overpasses at the Route 125 and Route 28 interchange in Andover. Andover Fire and Rescue responded with extrication tools and had to use the Jaws of Life to get Sheridan from the vehicle. The following are excepts from the North Andover Police log. At 12:49 a.m. a caller reported a hole in the pavement on Osgood Street. A work crew had put cones near the hole but the cones were moved. A worker replaced the cones by hole. At 1:57 a.m. a car playing loud music was reported on Wood Lane. The vehicle was gone on the arrival of an officer. At 9 a.m. a motor vehicle hit and run was reported at Andover Street and Turnpike Road. The accident involved a gray Chrysler that fled after hitting a bus. No injuries were reported. At 10:25 a.m. an employee at Staples reported that a Fedex truck hit the building in the back and left without reporting it.
