Knights and Wildcats Will Share Cape Ann League Championship

Knights beat Hamilton-Wenham; North Andover and Wilmington tie for Cape Ann League crown.

The Knights beat Hamilton-Wenham by a ten spot on Monday night to clinch a share of the Cape Ann League Title. The final score was 69-59. The Wilmington Wildcats and Scarlet Knights will share the honor of being 2010-11 Cape Ann League Champions as they each finished the regular season with 11-2 league records. Monday’s win helped the Knights close out their regular season at a 16-4 clip. Leading the Knights was Derek Collins whose 20 points set the pace for North Andover. He drained four three-pointers in the process. Knights captain Zach Karalis was right there with him scoring 15 points of his own. Jack Murphy’s 245 yards and 3 touchdowns pave the way for Knights’ win over Pentucket

You know a game is special when the winning coach gets a Gatorade bath. The North Andover Scarlet Knights won their ninth consecutive game and clinched the Cape Ann (Large) Conference Championship with a 41-22 drubbing of division rival Pentucket on Friday night. Scarlet Knights captain Jack Murphy steamrolled the Sachems defense with a dominating rushing performance rushing of 245 and 3 touchdowns, executing the game plan with perfection in front of a packed and jacked Walsh Stadium. "All championship teams run the football to win," said North Andover head coach John Rafferty. North Andover outrushed Pentucket 320 yards to 126.
