A Chinese newspaper has identified the third Boston Marathon bombing victim as Lu Lingzu, a Boston University graduate student, according to the Associated Press. Lu, from Shenyang, China, was studying statistics in Boston. A second Chinese national and BU student, Zhou Danling, was also injured in the blasts. She is listed in stable condition in a Boston hospital, according to Chinese officials. Lu's death has led to an outpouring from friends, family and concerned neighbors in China. Lu's Sina Weibo page already has 20,000 comments from shocked and upset friends (Sina Weibo is a Chinese social media service that combines Twitter- and Facebook-like features). Boston TV icon hosted a children's show in the 1950s-1970s. Do you have any photos from back in the day?
Rex Trailer, a Boston TV icon who had been recovering from pneumonia recently, has died. Trailer hosted “Boomtown,” a children’s show with a Western theme on WBZ-TV from 1956-1974. How did a Western cowboy make his mark in Boston? According to Wikipedia, his corporate overlords gave him a choice of Cleveland or Boston. But he's remembered for more than his cowboy get-up.The Boston Globe wrote in an editorial last year: Kids adored Trailer’s rodeo tricks. But mostly they adored him for his consistent kindness and competence. He also inspired a local cowpunk band to name itself "Tex Railer's Doomtown." Trailer was 84. He lived in North Andover the past three years.
He was a thinker, a scholar and a writer, and he contributed to the expansion of sociological and criminological thought. James Q. Wilson, a resident of North Andover for the past three years, passed away on Friday at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a battle with leukemia. He was 80. The New York Times has a full story on his life and legacy. Dr. Wilson is most well known for his "Broken Windows" theory. This was the idea that police should focus on solving small crimes in addition to big ones, because if a window is broken, people will break another window. I was making a list and reflecting upon the year 2011 and how often the North Andover Senior Center and staff have supported our community. I thought it would be an appropriate time to share with you many ways we at the North Andover Senior Center give back to the community. We work with other organizations to maintain numerous programs that support our seniors, such as the Boston Food Bank, providing monthly provisions for those that need additional support. Medical transportation is provided by 21 volunteers. These volunteers are recruited by the North Andover Senior Center and they are supported by the Northern Essex Elder Transport Program. Through our transportation coordinator we are able to provide medical transports for our older …

I'm a commercial hair and makeup artist and about 15 years ago I was teaching a makeup class at an acting school to a bunch of teenagers.
