As a retired teacherof 35 years, I am very impressed by the Center for the Performing Arts in North Andover. It embodies an atmosphere of warmth, congeniality and genuine caring for each of it's students. The organization and creativity is evident in the daily classes and especially at the dance recital in June in which every dancer is truly a star! Miss Jane, Miss Meghan and their staff have a true gift of understanding and devoloping the potential of each of their students.

I can now call my two daughters dancers thanks to the Center for Performing Arts, and the reason is simple...because they love it. I went to every dance studio in the Andover/North Andover 5 years ago when my oldest was considering dance. My choice of CPA was easy since owner Jane O'Donnell herself took the time to show me around the studio, explain dance to me and her philosophy of how everyone is accepted and should enjoy dance. Between the welcoming atmosphere (not competitive), the amazing teachers, the wonderful dances and the phenomenal recital (which feels more like a theatrical production and is very entertaining with beautiful outfits and makes everyone a star)
is run amazingly well. My daughters are so happy at CPA and to see their progress has been wonderful. I recommend this studio to everyone! Stop by and you'll know why!

Jane O'Donnell's Center for Performing Arts has been the ideal studio for my two young dancers. Jane's dedication to dance education is evident in her well-planned rehearsals by teachers who easily build rapport with each student. The instructors always seem to chose movements dancers of varied abilities can adapt to, yet still feel challenged. Everyone I've met at CPA is professional and passionate about ensuring my kid makes progress and genuinely enjoys their dance instruction. And wait until the amazing recital. All the choreography showcases the emotional and artistic aspects of dance leaving everyone in the audience uplifted and entertained. I know of no better place that guides children through the world of dance.

CPA's motto is, Where Everyone's a Star! and they really do live by it. Every child is featured at some point in their performance with a sensitivity to age appropriate music and costumes (never a bare midriff or butt cheeks hanging out at any age). The faculty is committed to teaching technique over tricks and it is a completely non-competitive environment. If your child wants to perform more than just the recital, there is an amazing performance team and ballet intensive program which opens a whole world of opportunities from major bowl games and the Celtics pre-game to local events and showcases. CPA really is unique. You will not find another dance school like it in the area.
