Your Guide: Fire Department Open House

It's a learning opportunity for the whole family.

To commemorate National Fire Prevention Week, the North Andover Fire Department will host an Open House for the community at the department's Main Street building this weekend.

The Open House will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

There will be a sidewalk CPR certification, Jaws of Life demonstration on a vehicle, fire extinguisher training, tours of the vehicles and the station and more.

The Open House gives residents the chance to see what the Fire Department does on a day-to-day basis as well as learn fire safety and CPR.

"The sidewalk CPR only takes about 15 minutes to do," Fire Lt. Bill McCarthy said. "You can get certified in CPR in quick time instead of the old way where it took several hours."
