Military, Facials and Decked-Out Pumpkins in North Andover This Weekend

Your local guide to weekend fun.

Summer's officially over, but the weather doesn't seem to know that. Temperatures are expected to be in the 70s and 80s Saturday and Sunday, with clear sunny skies. And the weekend will have lots of fun activities for North Andover, so take advantage of that warm weather.

Military Weekend: In addition to their fall Festival this weekend, Smolak Farms will have Military Families Weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, local and regional military families are invited as guests of the farm to spend the day picking apples in the vast Smolak Farms orchards. The first 200 military families to visit Smolak Farms will receive a complimentary gift basket, a half-bushel of apples, pumpkin, apple cider and more.

Grand Opening: Don't forget about your health. Merrimack Valley Wellness Center will host a Grand Opening at its new 800 Turnpike St. location Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free family day will have pony rides, a bouncy house, food, free massage and mini facials for adults.

Motorcycle Ride for Veterans: On Sunday, there will be a motorcycle ride and cookout to honor fallen hero Evan O'Neill. See the complete details here.

Yoga: And for the kids, there will be Kids Fun YogaSunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Trinitarian Congregational Church.

Fall Festival: And perhaps the biggest event in town this weekend will be the North Andover Merchants Association fall festival, which will be Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus. There will be face painting, pumpkin decorating and more.
