Wood Ridge Homes: Where North Andover's National Night Out All Began

Do you know where North Andover's very FIRST National Night Out event was held?  

Wood Ridge Homes a  cooperative community on Wood Ridge rd was actually the very first host of National Night Out in North Andover. Tracy Watson, Senior property manager with Barkan Management company approached Chief Stanley nine years ago with the idea of bringing National Night Out to her property for her residents. Tracy and her staff had already researched the National Night Out event (NNO)  and whole heartily felt this was the right type of event for her community.

" This is a perfect type of event for Wood Ridge.  We are highly populated with children and bringing a safety event which introduces our local police and fire to our residents helps build a stronger community"  states Watson.

Chief Stanley couldn't have agreed more and worked out all the fine details with Tracy to set up the event with police  ATV's, automobiles and a K-9 for demos.  Our North Andover Fire wanted to be part of the fun too and joined in with a truck, and fire safety demonstrations.

After a couple of years of Wood Ridge hosting this extremely successful event Chief Stanley decided this  was an event that  the entire town of North Andover would benefit and enjoy.

The agreement was made and Watson and Stanley decided this is the perfect opportunity to share the fun and great way to build town wide relationships with law enforcement and our community.

But this didn't mean Wood Ridge would lose their NNO.   Watson, agreeing with Stanley that it was time to move to larger scale but also wanted to keep it to its roots.  Wood Ridge would continue to host their National Night Out event and it would be two hours before the town wide celebration.

Now today, on this beautiful  Tuesday August 7th Wood Ridge Homes will host their National Night Out event from 4PM-6PM then our police and fire will hustle up to Hayes Field for our town wide 6PM-8PM event.
