Women’s Basketball Announces 2011-12 Schedule

The women’s basketball team announced its 2011-12 schedule on Monday, which kicks off with four straight home games.

Led by first-year head coach Monique LeBlanc, Merrimack opens with a non-conference game against Molloy on November 12 before hosting Franklin Pierce in the conference opener on November 16. The Warriors also host Bridgeport on November 19 and Bentley on November 22 before hitting the road for seven of their next nine games.

After visiting rivals Stonehill and Saint Anselm, the Warriors welcome UMass Lowell to the Volpe Gym on December 3 in the final home game until a battle with Adelphi on January 3.

In late January, Merrimack will play four times in eight days, visiting AIC on Jan. 21 and Pace on Jan. 25, while hosting C.W. Post on January 23 and Assumption on Jan. 28. Merrimack concludes January at rival Bentley on Jan. 31.

The Warriors conclude the regular season with four of six at home, including a matchup with Southern New Hampshire on Senior Day on Feb. 18.

After opening the conference schedule against Franklin Pierce at home, the Warriors conclude the season at the Ravens in Rindge, N.H., on Feb. 22.

Merrimack finished 10-17 overall in 2010-11, 8-14 in the league, finishing 11th overall.  The season was highlighted by a triple-overtime thrilling victory with Stonehill in November and four straight victories in a 6-3 January.
