Which Red Sox Player Will Be the Next Hero?

Every member of the team has played a part in getting to the ALCS, but which member of the Red Sox are you expecting to emerge as the next hero?

Without question, David Ortiz showed his prowess for heroics on Sunday night.

A game-tying, two-out, bottom of the eighth grand slam in the postseason? It doesn't get much more heroic than that.

And let's not forget Jarrod Saltalamacchia. He's the one who pushed the game-winning run across home plate in the bottom of the ninth, notching an unlikely win for the Red Sox in game 2 of the American League Championship Series and tying the series at 1-1.

But two players does not a baseball team make and there are at least four more games coming in the ALCS. That's at least four more opportunities for other heroes to emerge.

We all know Big Papi is good for a clutch moment, but as the team heads to Detroit for games three and four, we want to know this:

Who on the team are you expecting to step up and show some heroics in the coming games? Who will be the next hero?

Post your thoughts in the comments below. Oh, and Patch readers in Michigan are posting their own thoughts about the unsung heroes on that team. Check out their thoughts here.

Game 3 of the ALCS takes place Tuesday in Detroit. First pitch is set for 4:07 p.m. and the game will be televised on Fox.
