After some record setting performances at the CAL Open, both teams look ahead to state finals in Bridgewater.
and Eric Riedel each scored personal bests at last Saturday's Cape Ann League Open. Foote scored an area best 63.51 (.08 seconds better than the previous record).
The girls team, who already won the division, narrowly won the CAL Open by 4 points ahead of Ipswich. Coach Rick DelleChiaie says his team is getting better each meet and is excited to send 19 girls to the state finals this year.
The boys team lost ground, coming in third at the CAL Open after winning it last year. Junior Eric Riedel scored a personal best in the triple jump for the Knights, Riedel will be one of several Knights headed to Bridgewater. Coach Steve Nugent believes some of his players have a good shot at placing next week, including Riedel.
