VIDEO: Knights March Into North Final
North Andover beat Gloucester at LaLacheur Park yesterday to advance to the MIAA Division 2 Championship game.
At LaLacheur Park in Lowell yesterday, the North Andover Scarlet Knights won their 22nd straight game and advanced into the MIAA Division 2 North Championship.
The championship bout will be held today at 6:00 p.m. in Lynn. The Knights will battle Lynn Classical with a berth in the Division 2 State Tournament at stake.

Last night it was who played the hero for North Andover. He pitched a complete game, three hit shutout in North Andover’s 3-0 win over Gloucester. Weisman struck out 11 batters.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning as Gloucester’s starter Matthew Catarino was also spinning a gem. Catarino got tangled up in the fifth when he started the inning by walking the Cape Ann League Player of the Year and North Andover Patch Athlete of the Week, .

After another walk and an infield hit, the bases were loaded for North Andover. David Foote stepped up to the plate and hit an RBI sacrifice fly to right field to give North Andover its first run and the eventual game winner.
The Knights added some insurance in the sixth.
Tyler Leavitt hit an RBI single to knock in Mike Weisman from second base to make it 2-0. Daniel Laorenza then ripped an RBI single to make it 3-0.
The Knights face Lynn Classical tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. at historic Fraser Field in Lynn. The winner will move on to the state semifinals to face either Plymouth North or Somerset.
