Merrimack to Face Notre Dame Saturday in NCAA Tournament

The Warriors will face Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night in Manchester, N.H.

The Merrimack College Warriors will play in their first NCAA National Tournament since 1988 on Saturday.

The Warriors will travel to Manchester, N.H., to take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in the first round of the 16-team tournament. 

The Verizon Wireless Arena will play host to the playoff game.

In the Northeast Regional bracket, the Warriors are the #2 seed; Notre Dame is the #3 seed. 

Merrimack enters the game with an all-time best record of 25-9-4; the Fighting Irish are 23-13-5.

Miami of Ohio and the University of New Hampshire are also in Merrimack's bracket. Miami and UNH will also battle on Saturday with each winner moving on to the elite eight.

The winner of the Northeast Regional bracket earns a berth in the NCAA Frozen Four which gets underway April 7 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
