North Andover won its second straight game to open up the 2011-12 season by beating the Hornets 2-0. Prior to that it was a 5-1 triumph at Pentucket that got the season underway.

Saturday night saw Rick O’Connor, Mike Cusack, Jack Carroll, and Ryan Sweeney all record assists. Joey Daccord made 21 saves in his first shutout of the season.

Girls Basketball
The Knights fell in overtime in their 2011-12 season opener.
led all scorers with 19 points, but that wasn’t enough to take down Billerica. The Indians won 49-47 on Friday night.
The Knights had the last possession of overtime but could not get a shot to go by the time the clock ran out. Michaela Mello dropped 11 points of her own as well as 10 rebounds.
Tonight
The girls basketball team travels to Masco to face the Cheiftans at 6:30pm.
The boys basketball team will host Masco at 7pm.
