An Afternoon with Micky Ward

About The Event: Micky Ward will discuss his legendary career; answer questions from the audience; and sign copies of his brand new biography - A Warrior's Heart: The True Story of Life Before and Beyond The Fighter.  The Andover Bookstore will be present to sell copies of Micky's book to all interested fans.  This event is at the TEWKSBURY SENIOR CENTER.

About The Speaker:
"Irish" Micky Ward is a retired junior welterweight professional boxer from Lowell, Massachusetts.  Micky is regarded as a working class hero, a blue-collar athlete who has overcome many difficulties in life and prevailed through determination and hard work.  He won three New England Golden Gloves titles as an amateur before turning pro in 1985 and started off 14-0 in his professional career.  Micky captured both the WBU Intercontential Light Welterweight title and the WBU Light Weighterweight title.  He also won the respect and admiration of many fans worldwide, inspiring songs, books, and the Academy Award winning-film "The Fighter."
