Athlete of the Week: Shawn Loiseau
The Merrimack College linebacker has earned some preseason honors this summer.
Merrimack College senior linebacker Shawn Loiseau is this week’s North Andover Patch Athlete of the Week.
Loiseau started in all ten games for the Warriors last season and will be a captain for Merrimack this fall.
Loiseau was just honored by Beyond Sports LLC; he was just named a first-team Preseason All-American. He was also named a earlier this summer.

The 245 lb. Criminology major is only 64 tackles away from becoming the school’s all-time leader in the category.
Standing at 6-1, Loiseau was last year's Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year. Last season he was a second team All-American and set the Merrimack record for tackles in a season for the second year in a row.

The Merrimack College Warriors football squad led by head coach John Perry will start training camp on Sunday.
The Warriors’ season begins on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. against Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The season opener will be at Warrior Field on the campus of Merrimack College.
