NA Middle School to Focus More on Math, Less on Foreign Language

Superintendent Kevin Hutchinson said an increased focus on math will help the school improve its state ranking.

North Andover Middle School is set to get three more math teachers after "disappointing" test scores.

The Eagle-Tribune reported the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education rates the school "Level 2." Superintendent Kevin Hutchinson said an increased focus on math at the seventh-grade level will help the school move up a level.

Hutchinson said school officials will divert attention from foreign language to math to accommodate the change.
