NAHS Homecoming Dance Attracts Hundreds of Loud and Proud Teenagers
More than 600 students attend Homecoming Dance Friday night; football, soccer, volleyball and more homecoming games throughout the weekend
The biggest party in town Friday night was in the only room in North Andover big enough for 600 dancing teenagers, Crozier Gym at the North Andover High School.
More than half the student body of North Andover High School attended its annual Homecoming Dance on Friday night immediately following the football team's 40-0 rout of Newburyport.
"It will be a memorable occasion," said senior class president Tyler McCarthy.

"It's always the most selling dance at the high school every year so we're hoping everyone will have a good time and be safe," he added.
McCarthy and his fellow class officers teamed up with Senior Class Advisors Pam Mequita and Mary Gregoire to organize the event which only allowed North Andover High School students to attend.

"We have more than 600 people that bought tickets, that's an unbelievable number for a dance," said Gregoire who is also the English Department Chair.
The student enthusiasm and high ticket sales forced a change in venue change from the cafeteria across the hall into the gymnasium.
"Usually we have the dances in the cafeteria, but we couldn't because of the fire code," added Gregoire.
Students also exercised their right to vote by filling out ballots for homecoming king and queen prior to McCarthy's announcement of the winners.
North Andover's homecoming weekend continues Saturday with the junior varsity football game slated to start at 10 a.m., girls varsity volleyball at noon, varsity field hockey at 1 p.m., girls varsity soccer at 3 p.m., and boys varsity soccer at 5 p.m.
School spirit at North Andover High School is thriving with other upcoming events including the annual Thanksgiving Day football game versus archrival Masconomet, the conclusion of the fall sports seasons, and the Winter Concert.
