Life Saving Work

Are you CPR Certified? If you found yourself at the scene of an emergency such as someone suffering a cardiac arrest, a drowning, or larger-scale disaster, are you prepared and equipped to make a difference?

North Andover Rotary Club members recognize that their community needs more people trained in CPR and set their sights on a North Andover Pride CPR Training spearheaded by Rotarian volunteers and friends. Soccer games, track meets, pool parties, on the playground, in the work place; emergencies happen.

The Rotary Club just launched a CPR Training/Certification Program with their first event held September 25th where many Rotary members were trained and certified. The underlying goal is to CPR Certify 100+ people per year with the power to save a life.

Putting CPR to the test is recognized as doubling the victim's chance of survival. Knowing this life saving technique gives you the power to save a life. CPR today is a hands-only technique that's easy to learn in just a couple hours.

What is CPR? Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a combination of rescue breathing and chest compressions delivered to victims that can support a small amount of blood flow to the heart and brain to "buy time" until normal heart function is restored.

According to the American Heart Association, approximately 80% of cardiac arrests occur at home and about 92% of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before they reach the hospital.

Bystanders who are able to recognize a medical emergency, quickly call 9-1-1 for emergency responders, and begin CPR have the power to be life-savers.
