VOTE 2012: Primary Day

Here is what you need to know.

North Andover voters will head to the polls to select candidates in the Massachusetts Primary today.

Voting will be at Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Attached is a map of the town's precincts as set by the legislature. Please note the precincts are different from previous elections due to redistricting.

Essex 14th House District

  • Incumbent Democrat David Torrisi is running against challenger Democrat Diana DiZoglio.
  • The winner will go on to face Republican Karin Rhoton in the general election.
  • The Essex 14th District includes precincts 1 to 5 in North Andover.

1st Essex State Senate Seat

  • This is an open seat, since state Sen. Steve Baddour resigned.
  • Republican candidates are Shaun Toohey to Haverhill and Sam S. Meas of Haverhill.
  • Democratic candidates are Bill Manzi of Methuen; Tim Coco of Haverhill; and Kathleen O’Connor Ives of Newburyport.
  • Independent candidates are Paul Magliocchetti of Haverhill and James Kelcourse of Amesbury.

Governor's Council, 5th District

  • This district represents the Merrimack Valley and North Shore.
  • Democratic candidates include Donald Bumiller, Eileen Duff, David Eppley and George O'Brine.
  • The Republican candidate is Maura Ciardiello.

Register of Deeds

  • Democratic candidates are Robert Kelley, Paul Iannuccillo and John O'Brien.
  • The Republican is John Wilson Jr.
