TELL US: What is Deciding Your Vote for Congress?

There are many issues in the 6th District congressional race. Which one is the big factor for you?

The election is less than two weeks away. In the Massachusetts Sixth District, voters will decide who their next congressman will be.

Incumbent Democrat John Tierney is in an intense race against Republican challenger Richard Tisei and Libertarian Daniel Fishman.

The campaign has gained national attention. Legal drama involving Tierney's inlaws, Tierney campaign talk of Tisei having radical right-wing connections, and the emergence of Fishman's outside-the-box third party effort have made the race eventful, to say the least.

All this, in the midst of a federal budget crisis, Medicare, student loans, abortion, high unemployment and more.

We want to know what issue is the biggest deciding factor in your vote in the 6th District race.

Discuss in the comments below.

S. Marino: I know the truth hurts, but here's a tip for you: Stop watching FAUX News and do a little independent research on your own. The facts are out there and it's really not too difficult to do. It's certainly better than regurgitating misinformation all the time and, hey, you might even learn something! Let me know if you need any help.
Steve Marino October 26, 2012 at 04:08 PM
Bob, I'm going out on a limb here but I bet NahantJean was ok with Clinton getting bj's in the White House! Morally sound judgement! Or maybe when the CIA had Bin Laden in their sights 3 times and Clinton decided not to " take him out "! Maybe he was to busy cheating on his wife with Monica and getting more BJ'S! Again, morally sound judgement!
NahantJean October 26, 2012 at 04:41 PM
S. Marini: Seriously now--is this the best you could come up with? Well, it appears the limb you were going out on snapped! You're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now. Truly pathetic and not worthy of a response. And let me offer you a bit of advice--if you're going to continually rant about "morally sound judgment," you might want to at least spell it correctly. It's a little embarrassing on your part and just adds to your lack of credibility. You're welcome; no charge.
Steve Marino October 26, 2012 at 04:42 PM
NahantJean, I guess I would need your help because I don't get my information from liberal propaganda sources, maybe you could enlighten me?
Bob October 26, 2012 at 04:51 PM
Ahh Jean, you do know the 9/11 attacks were planned in Afghanistan right? That Bin Laden was in Afghanistan when we attacked? Have you ever heard of the Taliban? That Clinton had a kill/no kill on OBL and chose not to because OBL was with a UAE prince. BTW - Look up who has given Clinton and his foundation the most money since he left the WH. I will give you a hint... The UAE!
Steve Marino October 26, 2012 at 05:13 PM
Bob, no disrespect, but everything that NJ has put out there has been nothing but bias B.S., why bother explaining?
Stephen Christian October 26, 2012 at 05:41 PM
History shows that this is not a Republican thing... It's the tune of both Party's!!!!
Stephen Christian October 26, 2012 at 05:42 PM
History shows that this is not a Republican thing...There is no such thing as an independent democrat either!

My mind was made up long ago. The promised change we got in the last four years is horrendous. Now it's REALLY time for change. I marvel that anyone would even consider voting for either Tierney or Warren. There is enough damning evidence to consider them both totally unethical. First and foremost, the lies! However, you do know what flows down hill, from the very top. This administration has been such an embarrassment... This lying and denying and diverting seems to be the modus operandi of the Democrat party of late. I have to laugh at anyone who dumps on Fox News, also. You show your insular attitude, lack of curiosity, and disregard (or is it laziness?) for digging in and forming your own opinions. I listen to Fox, all the alphabet networks, read Drudge, Daily Kos, HuffPo... Am on email lists from everything from tea party sites to MoveOn. Smarten up. If a talking point sounds too good (read, outrageous) to be true, LOOK IT UP - and I don't mean on those so called fact checker sites, which have their own agendas. This goes for both sides. You do your party and your argument no good by coming up ignorant. As it happens, most of the ignorance on this page is from the left!
Steve Marino October 26, 2012 at 06:20 PM
Watch out for NahantJean, you have a differing view point and she's about to get nasty and demeaning toward you!
doc holliday October 26, 2012 at 06:39 PM
Hooray for Deb P
NahantJean October 26, 2012 at 06:40 PM
Ah, Bob, you do know the hijackers were from Saudia Arabia, right? But Bush couldn't go after the actually perpetrators' country because the Bush family is in business with the Royal Saud Family. Oh, and come to think of it, Bush Sr. was in business with the bin laden family as well (a very sad FACT). Are you saying the Taliban was responsible for 9/11? Not so. You need to research the facts and stop relying on FAUX news. Educate yourself because you're coming off as misinformed as S. Marino. Seriously now . . . clueless!
Steve Marino October 26, 2012 at 07:01 PM
NJ, do you think Bin Laden didn't know that the US and Saudi Arabia have been close friends for decades? Do you think the hijackers might have been picked from this country on purpose to create a wedge between the two country's? Bin Ladin thought that he could fool Bush as he did you! Look at that, Bush is smarter than you! Go figure! S.A. Also threw Bin Ladin out of the country, so I'm just guessing, but I think he may have wanted the US to bomb them to pay them back! Again, this didn't fool Bush as it had you!
Steve Marino October 26, 2012 at 07:06 PM
Spell my name correctly, and maybe I'll listen to your, as usual, B.S.
Bob October 26, 2012 at 07:15 PM
Jean, I know where they came from and not all came from Saudi Arabia. 15 of the 19 to be exact. I also know, apparently unlike you, that they were trained in Afghanistan with the Taliban's blessing and protection. Do you think we should have attacked Germany too because they lived there for a few years after they were trained? Egypt or UAE because the other 4 were from those countries? Ahhh, yes the Carlyle Group. I am guessing you saw Fahrenheit 911 and believe it all, right? ROTFLMAO! The Bin Laden family after disowning Osama joined the Carlyle Group which also had as investors the Bush family. Bet you didn't know David Rubenstein co-founder and managing director of the Carlyle Group was an aide to Jimmy Carter! Horror! Carter had something to do with 9/11! (tongue firmly in cheek)! Who is clueless?
TomH October 26, 2012 at 08:26 PM
I dont like either of these guys. Very frustrating choice.
Scot Sutherland October 26, 2012 at 10:51 PM
Obamacare hasn't even started yet. How could it have helped you?
MikeA October 26, 2012 at 11:44 PM
The 2.3% medical device tax. Doesn't that start in January? Didn't Phillips just announce that this tax and other aspects of ObamaCare was affecting there business? Did Phillips Medical in Andover just have layoffs? Dr. Tierney call your office. Stat. Dr. Tierney c
A Taker October 27, 2012 at 12:53 AM
gene - you can't offer a "studies show," then refuse to provide those studies (or at least links to them), and tell us to find them on our own. That breaks the rules of intelligent debate.
Gatsby October 30, 2012 at 02:55 AM
Lack of any integrity or moral compass notwithstanding, Tierney is an empty suit legislator and has been for his full tenure. He has done nothing more than add his name to causes on occasion. Scott Brown has proposed more legislation in an abbreviated term in the Senate than Tierney has in his entire hack career. He's a career pol and a dope and a liar. Throw the bum out and give Tisei a chance. Otherwise I'm moving to Nahant!
Lisa Butler November 02, 2012 at 02:35 PM
Tisei is a career politician and has been one since he was 22 years old. He's done nothing for my town and it's his own hometown. I've been on the school committee for almost 6 years and he has done NOTHING for our schools. NOTHING, never even reaching out to offer help when we had tough financial times. Current Sen. Katherine Clark and Rep. Paul Brodeur regularly reach out to us to try and help us with funding issues and other constituent issues. Tisei even supported a local candidate who was very publicly AGAINST our schools, against a new middle school that we desperately need. I want someone who will work for us, for education, for women. That is NOT Tisei. That is Tierney.
Bob November 02, 2012 at 03:05 PM
Temperance - Good to see the tolerant and all inclusive liberals defending freedoms on this board!
Jeremy November 03, 2012 at 02:57 AM
Tierney is a thief and a weasel. His the definition of a scumbag and he has no right holding political office.
hammergjh November 03, 2012 at 01:06 PM
Wake up and smell the reality. The right excels in lies, look at Romney's campaign, he's bringing lying to a whole new level. If anything, Obama has made some predictions that he couldn't deliver on. That's politics. It started back in the day with "a chicken in every pot". But for outright lying and distortions this season's prize goes to Romney. I don't trust that man one bit.
Steve Marino November 03, 2012 at 07:20 PM
Do you mean like when Obama said he would cut the debt by 5 trillion and he increased it by 6 trillion instead?
Steve Marino November 03, 2012 at 07:21 PM
Minor lie!
Steve Marino November 03, 2012 at 07:56 PM
Not much of a choice? Bankruptcy or prosperity! You choose.
Steve Marino November 03, 2012 at 08:02 PM
After you vote for Tierney, make sure you tell all the teachers in your school system to teach the children that if they want to run for office one day, that its ok to be a lying, cheating scum bag!
Tricia November 05, 2012 at 04:34 AM
If you say "yes" to any of the following, you should vote for a Republican (1) Do you like pollution? (2) Do you want to gut our natural resources? (3) Do you like war? (4) Do you believe in Creationism? (5) Do you want to restrict stem cell science research designed to help cure diseases? (6) Are you against equal pay for women? (7) Are you against abortion even in the case of rape? (8) Do you like to discriminate against LGBT? (9) Do you support Romney and the like to hoard the Global Wealth off-shore? My idea of a representative is someone who will work in the best interest of the citizenry and future generations not someone interested in maximizing their own party's GREED! Do yourself a favor and vote for ALL THE DEMOCRATS!!!
Steve Marino November 05, 2012 at 11:41 AM
Tricia, you have a very sad and naive view on life! You really need to stop listening to liberal propaganda and talking points, and start thinking for yourself.
