State Awards Local Business More than $37,245

The money will be used for training and job creation.

The state is giving more than $2 million in Workforce Training Fund grants to 28 businesses in 23 towns to support training and create jobs, and one local business is on that list.

Network Allies LLC, a North Andover-based provider of application-specific computing solutions, will receive $37,245. With those funds, 24 employees to be trained and five additional jobs are expected to be created at that business.

The Patrick-Murray administration estimates that statewide the grants will create nearly 200 new jobs and train about 3,000 workers.

“We are committed to providing training to new and incumbent workers
so that they develop the skill sets and expertise necessary for
sustainable jobs that are in demand by Massachusetts employers,” said
Joanne F. Goldstein, Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development, in a statement announcing the grants. “We welcome future applications from employers who recognize the value of training, at all levels, and propose training programs that enhance their business and upgrade the Massachusetts workforce."

North Andover's unemployment rate is below 5 percent, lower than the state's 6.3 percent rate and much lower than the national rate which is still above 8 percent.
