Deadline For Voter Registration For Primary is Aug. 17

Make sure you are registered to vote.

Friday, Aug. 17, is the last day to register to vote for the Sept. 6 State Primary.

The Town Clerk’s Office will be open until 8 p.m. for voter registration and absentee ballots for the primary.

The State Primary Election will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. School is open for this election.

You must be registered to vote or change party affiliation by Aug. 17 to be eligible to vote in the primary. You must choose a party ballot for this primary. If you are a registered Democrat you must choose a Democratic ballot, a registered Republican must choose a Republican ballot, or a registered Green-Rainbow Party that ballot.  If you are registered “Unenrolled” voter you may choose any one of the three ballots.

North Andover has split State Representative and State Senate Districts.  A listing of addresses by precinct is on the town’s Web site with sample ballots for each party and each separate precinct.

Absentee ballots for the State Primary are available now in the If you are unable to get to the polls on Election Day you may vote in person at the Town Clerk’s Office or request a ballot be mailed to you or a family member.  Forms are available on the Town’s web site. Ballots for the November 6, 2012 Presidential Election should be available no later than the second week in October.
