Charlie Baker Visits to Endorse Rhoton

The state representative candidate got a boost from a Republican legend.

Former gubernatorial candidate Charlie Baker visited North Andover Friday night to endorse Republican Karin Rhoton for state representative in the Essex 14th District race.

“I am pleased to endorse Karin Rhoton in her bid for State Representative in the Fourteenth Essex District,” Baker said in a statement. “Karin has been a constant force in her community, putting people before politics, and identifying solutions to some of the most complex issues.”

Baker attended a fundraiser for Rhoton's campaign at Friday night.

Rhoton, a conservative Republican running on a message of transparency on Beacon Hill, is preparing for what is sure to be a heated battle for the Essex 14th seat, currently held by State Rep. David Torrisi. Torrisi is busy with a primary for now, against Methuen's Diana DiZoglio.

Baker ran for governor in 2010 and lost to incumbent Deval Patrick despite attracting a large following. His running mate, Richard Tisei, is now running for Congress against John Tierney.

... And our very much over-rated and underperforming Republican senate minority leader Bruce Tarr refused to endorse Rhoton. He instead would prefer to "wheel and deal" with her opponent Democrat "potty-mouth" Davaid Torrisi - a BBF and vote getter for Lawrence mayor Lantigua. Go Figure.

I hope Tarr can explain himself coherently. RINO watch commences.

Best to Karin..after meeting and talking with her, she seems well qualified and would bring new energy and enthusiasm to the job.

Hey Cool Fusion - missed your comments about the East Longmeadow Republican vote-fraud. Is everyone who ever spoke for or endorse that guy tarred in a fashion similar to what you say for Representative Torrisi?

Chicago politics in East Longmeadow... who knew? Not nearly as bad as what Bruce Tarr and his fellow hacks at Mass GOP headquarters did to the Liberty Slate republican delegation in Lynnfield last May. Duly elected republican canidates who won in a fair and attested election the privilege to attend and vote at the 2012 Tampa convention were disavowed on latent and contrived-after-the-fact rules so their seats at the convention could be reassigned to themselves and their entrenched buddies. 17 slate elector delegates in all across numerous Mass. state districts were denied their election victory. Just another reason that the GOP leadership needs to be disinfected.
