What Caused Power Outage 'Out Country' This Weekend?

You may have noticed the traffic delay on Salem Street Saturday.

That big snowstorm may be over, but that doesn't mean its effects are behind us.

Several homes in the Salem Street/Boxford Street area mysteriously lost power Saturday afternoon after a trash truck knocked a tree limb onto power lines.

A trash truck slid off the road and hit a pole, knocking a power line down onto the street.

No one was injured, but the road was closed to traffic for a while and power was cut off to nearby homes while crews removed the wire.

This is the second time in a week a trash truck has slid off the roads in North Andover. The first was Thursday afternoon at the start of the storm.
