You should blame illegal immigrants too Anette, they're giving spanish and legal immigrants a really bad name nowadays...

Wow...what leads you to believe that I have 20 individuals living in my house? Is it the same stereotypical train of thought that Mr Davenport used? I have very strong opinions on illegal immigrants, more conservative than most other Hispanics of my age and demographic. I don't disagree with the argument that they are giving the rest of us a bad name, but your derisive comment just proved my point about the ignorance that I originally had an issue with. Regardless of whether I was born here or not, Puerto Rico was annexed as a strategic military acquisition by the US in 1998 and citizens were granted the right of US citizenship in 1917. All citizens born on the island and in the US are legal US citizens. History lesson aside, I again ask where in the article does it state that the criminal is not a US citizen? Why do you(and Mr Davenport) assume otherwise? Is it only because of his surname? What does it say about you that you can so easily make an assumption on one person, from one kernel of knowledge about his background?. Do you automatically assume all people of italian heritage are mafioso? Or that all people of Irish Hertitage are drunks? Are all German's Nazi's? Are all people of Asian descent bad drivers? Do all people of african descent become gang members? How can you tell who is who? Is it all just a name and a stereotype? If that is so that I am saddened.

You would think that after last 60 years of progress there would be a more educated and more well thought reason for the hate. But it all boils down to the same thing...ignorance and unwillingness to educate oneself. I pity you...

Annette, I thought people with that kind of mindset disappeared 40 years ago. I never dreamed that there are still people out there that think the way they do. I hope neither one of them have children because if they do then thats the reason why we have all this prejudism in the world today. They teach there kids and there kids will teach there kids and so on. My 16 year old son just said to me that they are war criminals that escaped prosecution 50 years ago and someone should drop a dime on them or at least let them know that H****r doesnt control Germany and theres no more Arian Nation.

And...we have a tie. David C, Annette, that is enough. I'm closing comments on this article.
