VIDEO: Mock Accident at NAHS

The police and fire departments demonstrated a car wreck for local students Wednesday.

As students head out to prom and other fun activities, police and firefighters want them to be aware of possible consequences of reckless driving.

So on Wednesday, police and firefighters held a mock car accident demonstration in front of

Jon Vellente, 18, played the role of a driver who was intoxicated and hit another vehicle. Ryan Curtain, 18, played the role of a dead student on the pavement as a result of that crash, and Charlotte Kingswood, 17, played the role of a student trapped inside one of the cars covered in blood.

The graphic demonstration is aimed at getting kids to realize the dangers involved with reckless driving, whether it's speeding, drunk driving or texting while driving, as well as the show them the graphic process involved on the scene of a car wreck.
