The underdog North Andover High School baseball squad is still alive in the state tournament.

The team, which went 10-10 in the regular season, was ranked No. 12—second to last—in the North Division 2 bracket.

North Andover won a thriller in the first round, pulling out a 7-4 win over Winchester in extra innings. On Saturday, the team won another close one, beating No. 4-ranked Reading, 5-4.

North Andover will now play No. 1-ranked Gloucester Thursday at 7 p.m. at Endicott College in Beverly.

The team said its confidence is high.

"We expected this," pitcher Tyler Lee told the Eagle-Tribune. "We knew we were a good team going in."
