Shoplifting, Kids on Ice and Some Road Rage

Items from the North Andover Police logs of March 5 and 6.

The following are excerpts from the North Andover Police log. The information is open to the public.

Saturday, March 5

2:28 a.m. Police received reports of a vehicle parked in the Rocky's Plaza parking lot and stopped to investigate, but the person had taken off on foot and could not be found.

5:26 a.m. A caller from the Farrwood development reported someone tried to break in to vehicles there. The caller described the person as a youth wearing a dark coat and hat. But police couldn't find the youth.

12:17 p.m. Police received a call about a shoplifter at and have summonsed a North Andover woman to court for shoplifting.

9:21 p.m. Police received another call about shoplifting, this time at and have summonsed a North Andover woman for shoplifting, second offense.

Sunday, March 6

1:20 p.m. Police noticed a car pulled over on Osgood Street and stopped to investigate. It turned out to be a driver who had stopped to make a phone call.

10:07 a.m. Police received reports of kids walking on the ice of Stevens Pond. The kids lived at a property along the pond, and police spoke with their father, who was watching them.

11:05 a.m. A caller reported an older male walking along Route 114 with a teenage girl. Police checked the area, but found nothing.

2:17 p.m. A caller reported seeing a driver in a gray vehicle yelling at a driver in a maroon vehicle and trying to run that vehicle off the road on Turnpike Street. Police spoke with both drivers. The argument had started in the parking lot of Peace was restored, and the drivers went on their way.
