Railing Fascination and Tire Thefts

The following are excepts from the North Andover Police log.

Tuesday, Sept. 13

At 10:31 a.m., someone's Lifeline was activated on Salem street. It turned out the person was fine. Her dog had accidentally pushed the button.

At 12:39 p.m., a caller on Ashland Street reported a man sitting next to the train tracks. The man told police he was a civil engineering student and was interested in trains.

At 4:33 p.m., a caller on Park Street reported that youths were ringing her doorbell and running. Police said they would notify the middle school.

Wednesday, Sept 14

At 9:35 a.m., a caller at Royal Crest reported that tires and rims were stolen off their car and the car was up on blocks. Police are investigating.

At 10:38 a.m., another caller at Royal Crest reported that their spare tire had been stolen off the rear hatch of their car.

At 4:33 p.m., Kohl's Department Store reported a shoplifter. Hector Rodriguez, 31, of 35 Common St., Lawrence, was arrested for shoplifting as well as for a trial warrant for drugs.

At 10:40 p.m., a caller on Osgood St. reported loud noise from the North Andover High School Band. The band then told police they were finished for the evening.
