Police Standoff With Fake Gun on Coachmans Lane
North Andover man allegedly had an argument with landscapers that led to a threat with a fake gun and a standoff with police.
An argument between landscapers and a doctor's son and a fake handgun allegedly led to a police standoff on Coachmans Lane Friday.
Police arrested Kaveh Kowsari, 27, of 27 Coachmans Lane, and charged him with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon after two landscapers working at a neighbor's home across the street told them he had come out of his home and threatened them with a gun, according to police.
Police rushed to the scene at just after 2:30 p.m. blocked off several streets around the home. After a brief standoff with police, Kowsari agreed to come out of the house at just after 3 p.m., and the police -- who had obtained a search warrant -- searched his home for the weapon.

The gun reportedly turned out to be fake, but Kowsari was arrested anyway. He was held on $50,000 bail and is set to be arraigned Monday in Lawrence District Court.
Kowsari is a graduate of Brooks School and Boston University. This was not his first run-in with North Andover police. Last year, he was arrested in North Andover for driving under the influence, according to police.
