UPDATE: North Andover Woman Charged in Andover Hit-And-Run

The accident happened on Route 125 in Andover today.

State Police are charging a North Andover woman they say was involved in a hit-and-run accident with a motorcycle on Route 125 in Andover Wednesday.

Jinhi Kim, 66, of North Andover, is being charged with the following leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.

"The investigation has revealed that the Mercedes was heading north on Route 125 as the motorcycle was heading south," the State Police Office of Media Relations wrote in a statement. "The Mercedes veered into the southbound lane, struck the motorcycle and fled the scene."

Kim was pulled over farther down the road due to a flat tire. Police located her shortly after responding to the accident.

State Police spokesman Trooper Sean Murphy said that the motorcyclist, 22-year-old Wilmington resident Adam Schainost, was seriously injured in the accident that occurred on Route 125 near Route 28 around 3:15 p.m. He was taken to Lawrence General Hospital and is expected to survive.
