A disaster has apparently been averted at Lawrence Municipal Airport in North Andover.

According to Twitter user Dave Avery a twin-engine Cessna lost one of its engines but managed to land safely.

North Andover Patch will report more from the airport as soon as we have it.

Well I wouldn't say 'disaster' - being a pilot, if it was indeed a twin, it is quite capable of single engine operation. Still, glad to see they were able to return to the airport safely.

Thanks for the perspective, Michael! As a non-pilot it certainly sounded dire to me.
