North Andover Mailbox Massacre

Items from the North Andover Police logs of July 9 and 10.

The following are excerpts from the North Andover Police log. The information is open to the public.

Saturday, July 9

2:50 a.m. A caller reported that her 16-year-old daughter was due home around 11:15 p.m. and hadn't arrived yet. Police searched for the missing girl, who returned home after 6 a.m. Police planned to talk with the girl.

4:47 p.m. Police received another call about a missing child. But this time, it turned out the child was just in another room inside the house, safe and sound.

4:52 p.m. A man walked into the station reporting that his car had been shot in the windshield by a BB gun while he was driving at the corner of Turnpike Street and Waverly Road.

Sunday, July 10

7:32 a.m. A resident of Pleasant Street reported that his mailbox had been taken and thrown down the street.

8:53 a.m. More residents began calling and reporting that their mailboxes had been damaged overnight. There were five damaged mailboxes on Rosemont Drive and one missing mailbox from Holly Ridge Road that was found on Rosemont Drive.

3:19 p.m. A caller reported a man pacing around outside at a house on May Street with no shirt on. The man turned out to be the house owner's nephew and was looking for a cat.

8:09 p.m. A caller reported that she was hiking with her kids and her 13-year-old son walked ahead, and they lost track of him. Police enlisted the Fire Department to help with the search. The boy was later found at his home, safe and sound.
