North Andover Brothers Hospitalized After Fiery Boston Crash

The two are in critical condition after an early morning accident on Storrow Drive.

Two North Andover brothers were hospitalized Sunday after being pulled from a fiery pre-dawn car crash in Boston.

The names of the brothers, ages 29 and 27, have not been released. Both are listed in critical condition, a state police spokesperson said.

State police in Brighton responded to reports of a single vehicle rollover on the inbound side of Storrow Drive at the Charlesgate Overpass near Kenmore Square in Boston Sunday at about 4:20 a.m.

"Upon arrival, troopers encountered two occupants trapped in a burning vehicle," a state police report said. "Boston Fire and EMS responded and both occupants were removed from the vehicle."

The cause of the accident has not been determined.

"When first responders arrived, they found the car on the median strip, crashed into a tree," Jake Wark of the Suffolk County District Attorney's office said.

After being removed from the wreckage with the Jaws of Life, the operator of the vehicle was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, his brother to Brigham and Women's. Both reportedly suffered serious injuries.

Storrow Drive inbound was closed for about three hours while police accident reconstruction crews investigated the scene.

The accident is still under investigation, and no further information is available yet.
