The following are excerpts from the North Andover Police log. The information is open to the public.

Monday, July 11

7:16 a.m. In what seems to have become a destructive summer trend, a caller on Boxford Street reported that several mailboxes had been damaged in that area overnight. Throughout the morning, more and more residents from the Boxford Street area called to report their mailboxes had been damaged. Police are investigating.

12:32 p.m. A caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Foster Street. The car had struck a fire hydrant and there was water spraying everywhere. The car was moved, and the fixed the hydrant.

4:18 p.m. A man walked into the station and reported that jewelry was missing from his mother's house. Police are investigating.

6:24 p.m. A caller reported that three boys were swimming in Lake Cochichewick, which is not allowed. Police went to that are and found the boys, but the boys denied swimming.
