Local Restaurant Owner Assaulted by Former Employee, Police Say

The owner of Buono Bistro was allegedly assaulted by a former employee Tuesday night.

At just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, police received a call from an employee of that restaurant reporting that the owner had just been assaulted.

An ambulance was called for the victim. The man who allegedyly assaulted him was not arrested but will be summonsed to court for assault and battery and destruction of property.

Monday, Oct. 15

At 3:29 a.m., a caller on Baldwin Street reported having a domestic dispute with her boyfriend. The dispute was verbal, and the boyfriend left for the night.

At 5:09 p.m., a caller reported seeing a man in his 50s or 60s walking around near the intersection of Dale Street and Meetinghouse Road dressed in camo and fatigues and carrying a hunting bow. Police spoke with the man, and he said he was hunting for deer on Smolak Farms property and had permission.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

At 10:16 a.m., a police officer found a loose dog at the intersection of Forest Street and Ingalls Street. He didn't manage to catch the dog though.

At 10:59 a.m., there was a motorcycle accident on Route 114. See the complete story here.

At 11:21 a.m., a caller reported seeing a loose dog near the Harold Parker State Forest. Police did not find the dog.

At 5:36 p.m., a caller reported that while he walked his dog near the Stevens Estate, he saw two men in the woods with hunting bows. Police did not find the men.
