The following are excerpts from the North Andover Police log. The information is open to the public.

Monday, April 18

12:25 a.m. A caller on Summer Street reported that someone had smashed in their mailbox. The caller was the only victim of mailbox smashing in the area. Police filed a report.

9:51 a.m. A caller on Sharpners Pond Road reported a canoe sticking out of the water in the pond. Police went and the owner of the canoe was there, and there were no problems reported.

10:58 a.m. A caller on Coventry Lane reported that his parents' house had been egged twice in the past week. The perpetrators had also been ringing his doorbell and running. The caller did not want to see a police officer, but he wanted the matter logged and more checks in that area.

4:51 p.m. A caller on Johnson Street reported his son was harassed by high school age children while walking on Rea Street. Police searched the area but did not find kids matching the caller's description.

7:55 p.m. A caller on Lacy Street reported that her neighbor was using a chainsaw. Police checked with the neighbor, who said he was done working on his property for the night.
