Labor Day Weekend Sees Drug Busts

Labor Day weekend is usually a time for cookouts and swimming. But this weekend, there were also drug arrests.

On Friday afternoon, stopped a man on Main Street for failure to yield and operating after suspension, according to police reports, and then chased him on foot when he ran off.

Police quickly apprehended Wesley Romano, 23, of 30 Sargent St., North Andover, and also charged him for possession of a class B substance and possession of a class C substance.

Romano was taken to the hospital for what appeared to be a drug overdose as well, according to reports.

Then on Saturday, police were called to by a woman who said she did not want her daughter there.

When they arrived, police arrested Nicole Wise, 37, of 30 Lewis St. Apt. 3, Lynn, for distribution of a class E substance. She was also wanted on warrants for violating an abuse prevention order.
