Home Invasion Suspect Arrested

The man is accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint on Windkist Road Sunday.

State Police arrested a man in Haverhill Monday night who was wanted for an alleged armed robbery and home invasion on Windkist Farm Road Sunday.

Police say Jeffrey Watson, 23, of Brockton, went to a home on Windkist Farm Road Sunday and held a gun to a woman's head demanding money. The woman told police the man had fled in a white car.

The woman also told police she knew the suspect and was able to give them his name, North Andover Police Chief Paul Gallagher said.

"The suspect had addresses in Haverhill and North Andover, so we teletyped to local depts to notify area depts to be on lookout," Gallagher said.

Monday night at about 7:45 p.m., an off-duty State Trooper Dan Ciardiello called the barracks in Newbury and said that he had spotted an Infinity Q45 that matched the car police were looking for.

Ciardiello followed the Infinity to Haverhill home and requested back-up when Watson went into that home.

"A second motor vehicle with two occupants arrived at the residence and picked up the operator of the Infinity," a State Police statement said. "As the second vehicle left the residence, with a possible suspect aboard, Trooper Ciardiello followed the second vehicle and continued to give updated locations until the vehicle was stopped by Haverhill Police."

Watson appeared in Haverhill District Court Tuesday morning and is being held in Middleton Jail, North Andover Police Chief Paul Gallagher said. He is due in Lawrence District Court Wednesday morning to face the North Andover incident charges.
