High Bail for Pastor Arrested in North Andover for Murder Plot

A judge set bail at $750,000 for a Missouri pastor who was arrested in North Andover earlier this month on charges he tried to kill his wife.

Donald Lafferty, 69, allegedly offered cash to his mistress and her husband to burn down his home while his wife slept last year, the Kansas City Star reported. The attempt failed; the wife survived.

Lafferty moved to Vermont after the incident and was arrested May 12 in North Andover.

His bail was set at $750,000 this week, according to the Daily Statesman.
