DUI Checkpoint in Essex County This Weekend

The Massachusetts State Police will hold a sobriety checkpoint in Essex County this weekend.

The checkpoint will be held Sat., March 29 into Sun., March 30 on a public way within Essex County.

Per historical practice, police did not reveal the exact location of the checkpoint.

"It will be operated during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety," police said in a statement.

This is against our rights! Just like all the cameras that I have been seeing in NorthAndover at traffic lights!

Not cameras for taking pics...sensor cameras to minimize wait times...do a little research. Check points are great tools to keep the public safe. Don't drive impaired and worry about nothing.
