Drug Arrest at NAHS

A student was arrested for possession of alcohol and drugs Tuesday.

A 16-year-old student was caught with alcohol and drugs at North Andover High School Tuesday morning, police said.

The school administration contacted School Resource Officer Brendan Gallagher just after 8 a.m. Tuesday morning with information that a student was in possession of drugs.

"Working with the school administration, Officer Gallagher arrested the student for possession of alcohol and possession of a class E substance," Lt. Charles Gray said. "He also was in possession of marijuana."

Gray said the student was carrying an unspecified amount of alcohol and one pill of Adderoll, a prescription medication used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder that is also sold illegally for recreational use.

There were no problems or complications involved with the arrest, Gray said.
