Bucket of Fire and Truck Strikes Dog

Wednesday, Oct. 5
At 9:34 a.m., an employee at Prescott Nursing Home reported that someone was stuck in an elevator and there was an odor of smoke. Crews were able to remove the person safely, and the smoke had been coming from a heater.
At 10:19, a caller on Salem street reported a golden retriever loose in that area.

At 11:06 a.m., a caller on Prescott Street reported seeing a bucket on fire on a neighbor's porch. The fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived.
At 5:21 p.m., an officer noticed youths lying on the train tracks near Marblehead Street. The youths were high school students taking photos for a school project.

At 7:04 p.m., a caller reported that a truck had struck a dog on Waverly Road. The dog was taken to Andover Animal Hospital.
