The man walked into the bank, demanded money from an employee and then fled in a red pick-up truck with an undisclosed amount of money, North Andover Police Lt. Charles Gray said.

Fortunately, the vehicle was easy to spot. It had a ladder rack on top. Officer William Lynch saw the truck on Route 125 and tried to pull Woodard over, then pursued him when he didn't. Detective Robert Barter then assisted in the chase. Woodard droveinto Haverhill, and Haverhill Police joined in the pursuit.

Woodard reportedly then fled northbound on I-495, with North Andover, Haverhill and state police following.

Woodard drove onto I-95, and at that point Police managed to disable Woodard's vehicle by hitting his tire with a "stop stick" near Route 286. Woodard hit the stop stick and went into the median and tried to drive on the median and cross over to I-95 southbound. When his car wouldn't drive, he jumped out and tried to flee on foot.

"Massachusetts State Police, North Andover police and Seabrook chased him," Chief Paul Gallagher said. "Seabrook Police used a taser to stop him, and he was arrested."

There were no injuries reported.

Woodard is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Lawrence District Court.
